Ainscough Training Services is the UK’s largest independent provider of specialist training for the Management & Supervision of Lifting Operations and it is a CPCS accredited test centre as well as a CSkills assessment centre.
John works within a team of Trainer/Testers who deliver competence based qualifications for client’s throughout the UK. He is responsible for the safe operation and Maintenance of our crane fleet
Career Profile
John started his working career in 1971 as an apprentice engineer with Gilbert Gilkes in Kendal. John then pursued a career in the Merchant Navy serving 9 years in total. Offshore oil refineries was Johns next stop on a 12 month secondment. Bachy Piggot Piling employed John for a further 2 years following the offshore employment.
Steel erecting was the next venture for John working for Henry Caunce on a 12 month contract.
John then entered the world of cranes for Ainscough Crane Hire operating various types including Crawlers
John continued operating Cranes including a 8t Hydrocon, 25t Tadanos & Kato’s.
Heavy cranes was the final destination for John, operating 550t, 750t and 1000t cranes
Ainscough Crane Hire proved to be John’s final employer from 1989 through to 2019 having had 30 successful years until semi-retirement.
John has now joined Ainscough Training Services Ltd offering his experience and knowledge to our clients and candidates.
